A clever spoof on all things musical
"Something Rotten" is a musical that spoofs musicals, so really it's a spoof of itself, and of the very genre of musical theater. In FAME's tradition of embracing sarcasm and humor from all perspectives, we think it's a perfect match. Described as “Broadway’s big, fat hit!” (New York Post), the musical was written by John O'Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick, with music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick. The plot centers on two struggling artists, the Bottom brothers (Nick and Nigel), who are aspiring playwrights, but their competition is fierce, none other than Bill (William) Shakespeare himself....
